On-Prem (Virtual) to On-Prem (Virtual)
Move VMs between clusters, sites, or hypervisor vendors with storage, network, and application dependencies kept intact.

What we actually deliver
Datacenter-to-datacenter virtual moves happen when you refresh hardware, vacate a colo, split a cluster, or change hypervisor vendors. The risk is the same as a cloud move: missed LUNs, stretched VLANs that nobody documented, and applications that assume a particular vMotion domain. We inventory both source and target clusters and treat the gap as a project, not a storage admin's weekend.
Storage and network design come first. We confirm datastore performance, replication, MTU, and firewall pinholes between sites. If the target is a different hypervisor, guest conversion, PV drivers, and licensing are tested on a pilot set. Shared services — domain controllers, file, backup proxies — are sequenced so application VMs do not boot into a half-moved estate.
Live migration is used where it is safe; cold migration with a freeze window is used where it is not. We never assume vMotion or Hyper-V live migrate will cover every VM. Snapshot and backup jobs are paused and resumed as part of the runbook so you do not silently lose restore points.
After the last wave we decommission source hosts on a written date and update DR runbooks to the new site. You leave with two cluster diagrams that match reality, not the diagram from the last hardware purchase.
