Application Modernization During Migration
Use the move as a chance to break a monolith, replace brittle jobs, and land on containers or managed services — without delaying cutover.

What we actually deliver
A migration that only copies a monolith into a larger VM is a missed window. We look at the application while the estate is already in motion: which modules can become services, which batch jobs should become queues, and which libraries are blocking a supported OS. The goal is not a rewrite of everything. It is a sequenced modernization that still hits the migration date.
We split the work into must-do-for-landing and can-do-after. Must-do includes OS and runtime upgrades that the target cloud will not run, secret handling, and health endpoints so the new platform can probe the app. Can-do includes extracting a service, introducing a message bus, or moving a report to a warehouse. Those land on a backlog with owners so they do not vanish after go-live.
Where containerization is justified we wrap the application with a repeatable image and a pipeline. Where it is not — licensed ISVs, GUI tools, or engines that assume a VM — we document why and still improve config, logging, and backup. Modernization is a set of evidence-backed changes, not a slogan on the migration slide.
You leave with a running application on the new platform and a written next-wave plan. The business sees the migration complete; engineering sees a cleaner runtime instead of the same ball of mud with a new IP address.
